Multicolours is a city-wide interactive light installation focusing on Glasgow's high-rise residential buildings.
During the last ten years over fifty high-rise buildings have been condemned for demolition in Glasgow alone. Whilst opinions vary on their suitability for housing, we feel it is important that these buildings are not wiped away with a sense of shame, but that people take note of their passing and remember them in a positive way.
The proposal for the pilot project is to install coloured LED lamps in the empty rooms on one side of an empty high rise building. The lamps will then be connected to a computer and programmed to turn on and off individually. The windows of the building will effectively be transformed into a giant multimedia “screen”.
